Samuel Gerald Jones was born in Chicago, IL. Very early in his acting career, Jones played the role of “Flash Gordon” in the film of the same name. Although, at the time, the film was a critical failure, it is now thought of as a cult classic. Unfortunately, the role stalled his career and he ended up working in television and low-budget films. He appeared in four episodes of the long-running TV series comedy 1st & Ten, played the title role in The Highwayman which ran for one season, and appeared in films such as Whiteforce, Driving Force, One Man Force, and Maximum Force.
