Bruce Springsteen was born Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen in Long Branch, NJ and is a world famous and well loved musician.  His breakthrough album, Born to Run was a critical and commercial success.  His second successful album, Born in the U. S. A. sold 15 million copies in the U. S. alone.  The album produced 7 top ten singles and is one of the best-selling albums of all time.
Springsteen has won many awards for his music.  Among them are:  an Academy Award  and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, Streets of Philadelphia, an Emmy Award for the HBO special Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band:  Live in New York City, and 19 Grammy Awards.  He has been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the New Jersey Hall of Fame.  The song Born To Run was named “the unofficial youth anthem of New Jersey” by the New Jersey state legislature.  Springsteen considered this ironic in view of the fact that the song is about leaving New Jersey.
Bruce Springsteen says, “When I was growing up there were two things that were unpopular in my house.  One was me, and the other was my guitar.”  Bet that’s changed now!

Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris was born in Ryan, OK.  After a tour of duty in Korea he became interested in the martial arts.  Eventually he became a karate instructor and ran several martial-arts schools.
Chuck Norris made his acting debut in an uncredited role in a Dean Martin film titled The Wrecking Crew.  He went on to do two Delta Force films in the role of “Maj. Scott McCoy” and three Missing in Action films as “Colonel James Braddock”.  The television series Walker, Texas Ranger, with Norris playing “Cordell Walker” ran for a very successful nine seasons.
Holder of a black belt in the Asian martial art of Tang Soo Do, Chuck Norris says, “I don’t initiate violence, I retaliate”.  That would be a good thing to keep in mind!

He was born David Micheal Hassellhoff in Baltimore, MA.  You know him from Knight Rider, Baywatch Nights and Baywatch.  And, of course, David Hasselhoff also played “Michael Knight” in the made for TV film Knight Rider 2000 and in one episode of the short-lived 2008 revival of Knight Rider.  He can be seen in the film short To Live and Dine in L. A. and will appear in the film The Legend of the Dancing Ninja, co-starring Lucas Grabeel.

In addition to his acting, David Hasselhoff is a major recording artist in Europe.  He attempted to break into the American music scene with a recording of Do You Love Me? but didn’t fare too well.  His second attempt was a live pay per view concert.  Unfortunately, it didn’t receive a lot of attention because it took place at the same time OJ Simpson was doing his famous L. A. freeway car chase.

Bruce Willis’ four season run as David Addison on the TV series Moonlighting established his acting career.  Some of his better known films are The Sixth Sense, Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards, followed by The Whole Ten Yards, and Hostage.  He is probably best known as John McClane in the Die Hard series of films.  The first Die Hard came out in 1988, followed by Die Hard 2 (1990), Die Hard With A Vengeance (1995), and Live Free or Die Hard (2007).  The latest one, A Good Day to Die Hard, is due to be released February 14, 2013. Dennis William Quaid hails from Houston, TX and has appeared in over 60 films.  Breaking Away was his first major film and his role as “Gordon Cooper” in the film about the original US Mercury 7 astronauts, The Right Stuff, earned him excellent reviews.  His portrayal of Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire! also won him critical acclaim.  Dennis Quaid played “Doc Holliday” in Wyatt Earp and “Frank Whitaker” in Far From Heaven which co-starred Julianne Moore.  He has also starred in The Parent Trap, Yours, Mine and Ours, and Smart People opposite Sarah Jessica Parker.  Quaid will appear in the fantasy/horror film, Legion, to be released in January of 2010. In a film titled The Special Relationship, he will play the role of ex-President Bill Clinton, with Michael Sheen as Tony Blair, Helen McCory as Cherie Blair and Hope Davis as Hillary Clinton. The film won’t be released until 2011.

In addition to being a fine actor Dennis Quaid is also a musician and wrote songs for three of his films:  The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, Tough Enough and The Big Easy.
