Yes, Virginia, there was Tom Selleck before Magnum, PI.  He actually made appearances on a couple dozen television series episodes, but he really hit the big time when  he landed the role of “Thomas Sullivan Magnum III”.  Sexy looking with a boyish side and a really hot car, living in Hawaii, chasing bad guys, and romancing beautiful women, Magnum was the coolest of the cool.

Jason Patric Miller, Jr. was born in Queen, NY.  He is the grandson of actor/comedian Jackie Gleason who was his mother’s father.  He first appeared in a made-for-TV film called Toughlove starring Lee Remick and Bruce Dern.  He was cast next in Solarbabies and then the lead role in The Lost Boys which also starred Corey Haim, Corey Feldman and Kiefer Sutherland.  He is well known for his role as “Officer Alex Shaw” in Speed 2:  Cruise Control opposite Sandra Bullock, and as “James Bowie” in The Alamo with Dennis Quaid and Billy Bob Thornton.  His most current film is The Losers with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the lead role.

Born Kiefer William Fredrick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland (no I did not make that up) in London, England, he dropped the rest and became just Kiefer Sutherland.   One of his early roles was “Ace Merrill” in the film Stand By Me which was based on a Stephen King novella called The Body.  He was “David” in the vampire film The Lost Boys, “Josiah Gordon ‘Doc’ Scurlock” in Young Guns and Young Guns II, “Nelson” in Flatliners, and “Det. Jack Vincennes” in L A Confidential.  Sutherland is currently starring as “Jack Bauer” in the highly successful and long-running television series 24.
When commenting on his career during the 1990’s Kiefer Sutherland stated:  “You could say I was not on everybody’s first list to do the bigger films.  Luckily, other opportunities have come along”.”  Turns out it’s lucky for us, too.

Rhodes Scholar, award winning, and all around talented guy, Kristoffer Kristian Kristofferson was born in Brownsville, TX.  Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down was on his first album and was originally recorded by Ray Stevens.  Others who have recorded it are Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. He wrote Me and Bobby McGee specifically for Janis Joplin and, although she did record it so did several other music artists. Help Me Make It Through The Night. For the Good Times, I Won’t Mention It Again, and Please Don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends, are just a few of the songs written by Kristofferson.
He also acted in dozens of films.  His debut film was The Last Movie.  Others were Convoy, A Star Is Born with Barbara Streisand, Semi-Tough with Burt Reynolds, No Place to Hide with Drew Barrymore, Payback starring Mel Gibson, and Blade co-starring Wesley Snipes.  Kristofferson and Val Kilmer will co-star in the film Provinces of Night which will be released sometime in2010. Kristofferson has recorded more than twenty albums.  The latest one Closer To The Bone was released in September of 2009.
Kris Kristofferson once said, “The number-one rule of the road is never go to bed with anyone crazier than yourself.  You will break this rule, and you will be sorry.”
