From Rocky 1 through 5 and Rambo 1 through 3 Sylvester Stallone has moved on to Barney Ross aka The Schizo and leader of The Expendables. The first Expendable film was released in 2010. The Expendables 2 comes out in August 2012. The films bring together some of film’s aging tough-guy, action heroes like Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, and cameo appearances by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.
Although he’s gotten a bit, OK, a lot, older, vintage actor Sylvester Stallone did another Rocky film in 2006 and a Rambo film in 2008. Wow! I bet that took some courage! Anyway, he was out front and center in 2010 in the starring role of “Barney Ross” in The Expendables. It was a film about mercenaries out to get a South American dictator and featured lots of vintage actors such as: Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, and Steve Austin. Possibly a last chance at the tough guy roles for them. Next up Stallone will stay behind the scenes and do the voice of Lion in an animated film titled Zookeeper. Adam Sandler has the lead role, doing the voice of Monkey.

Dolph Lundgren was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He is an actor who embodies the “action hero” genre along with others like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Although he has a master’s degree in chemical engineering and was offered a Fulbright scholarship to attend MIT, Lundgren chose to study martial arts and turned his achievements in body building and Japanese Karate into a successful film career.
Dolph Lundgren’s film debut was in the James Bond film A View to a Kill. His big break came as the Russian opponent “Ivan Drago” in Rocky IV. He starred opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in Universal Soldier and with both Van Damme and Sylvester Stallone in Universal Soldier: Regeneration.
Dolph Lundgren said: “My problem is that people get intimidated by someone big and beautiful like me. They hate to think I can be smart as well.” Whatever you say Dolph. I, for one, don’t wish to argue the point.

Whether you call him Sly, The Italian Stallion, , Rambo or Rocky, Sylvester Stallone, born Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in New York City, is one sexy hunk. He was so good at playing the mumbling, monosyllabic underdogs that he became one of Hollywood’s highest paid actors. “Rocky Balboa” made us cheer him on in four Rocky films and “John J. Rambo”, a somewhat mentally unstable Vietnam Vet, had us sympathizing with his plight in First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III.
Stallone tried his hand at comedy with Oscar, and Stop!Or My Mom Will Shoot, without much success. He did gain praise from some critics for his role a “Freddy Hefflin” in the film Cop Land which also starred Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, and Robert De Niro.
