Since his Academy Award winning performance as “Bad Blake” in Crazy Heart, Jeff Bridges has reprised the role of “Rooster Cogburn” in the film True Grit.   John Wayne played the role in 1969 and won the Academy Award for Best Actor.  Bridges has been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of “Cogburn”.

Excellent actor Jeff Bridges won a much deserved Oscar for his portrayal of “Bad Blake” in the film Crazy Heart.  From his early beginnings on Sea Hunt, which starred his father Lloyd Bridges, to Starman, The Fisher King, The Big Lebowski, and Sea Biscuit, Bridges has given us hours of entertainment.  He will reprise the role of “Rooster Cogburn” in a remake of the film True Grit which originally starred John Wayne.  Watch for it on December 25, 2010.

Jeffrey Leon Bridges was born in Los Angeles, CA to two talented actors, his father, Lloyd Bridges, and his mother, Dorothy Dean.  Some of his earliest roles were on his father’s television series Sea Hunt, along with brother Beau Bridges and on The Lloyd Bridges Show.  His career really took off from there and he went on to make many memorable films.  Among these films were The Last Picture Show, Against All Odds, Starman, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Fisher King, Fearless, The Big Lebowski, Iron Man, and Seabiscuit.  His latest role, that of “Bad Blake” in Crazy Heart just might win him a long overdue Oscar.
