Born in New York City, Harold George Belafonte was given the title “King of Calypso”.  His first single, Matilda, became his signature song with the audience participating in the chorus of the song in all of his live performances.  Another song always associated with him is The Banana Boat Song.  During his music career Belafonte released 33 solo albums and 8 collaborations.
Belafonte also pursued an acting career.  He starred in Carmen Jones with Dorothy Dandridge and Pearl Bailey, Island in the Sun, Buck and the Preacher opposite Sidney Poitier, the comedy Uptown Saturday Night with Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby, and with John Travolta in White Man’s Burden.
Harry Belafonte has been awarded six Gold Records, two Grammy Awards, the Kennedy Center Honors, the National Medal of Arts, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and an Emmy Award for his solo TV special Tonight with Belafonte.

Alfredo James Pacino, born in the Bronx, NY is one of the greatest actors in film history.  Relatively unknown at the time, he was cast by Francis Ford Coppola in the role of “Michael Corleone” in the first of the Godfather films and continued the role in Godfather II and Godfather III. He has appeared in so many great films.  Among them are:  Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, Scarface, Dick Tracy, Scent of a Woman, Donnie Brasco, the TV miniseries Angels in America, Ocean’s Thirteen and more.
Pacino won an Oscar for his role in Scent of a Woman and was nominated for another seven Oscars.  He won both an Emmy and Golden Globe Award for Angels in America. He also won a Golden Globe Award for Scent of a Woman and Serpico and received nine more Golden Globe nominations.
When Al Pacino was asked what a movie of his life would be called and who would play him he said, “It would be called the’ Dustin Hoffman Story’.   When we were starting out Robert De Niro, me and Hoffman were always sort of mixed up.  People mistook us for each other.”  Well, there is absolutely no mistaking any of you now.

Charles Eugene Boone was born in Jacksonville, FL and claims relationship to pioneer Daniel Boone.  He had a successful singing career in the 1950s and early 1960 with album sales exceeding 45 million.  In addition to his singing, he pursued an acting career making more than a dozen films and hosting the network television show The Pat Boone Chevy Show.  Most of Boone’s hit singles were covers of other R&B artists.  He put his own spin on songs such as Ain’t That a Shame originally released by Fats Domino, Tutti Frutti and Long Tall Sally by Little Richard, and I Almost Lost My Mind by Ivory Joe Hunter.
Boone’s first film was Bernardine followed by April Love co-starring Shirley Jones, State Fair opposite popular singer Bobby Darin, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
in the late 90s Boone released an album titled In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy.  The album was a collection of heavy metal music previously recorded by heavy metal artists like Judas Priest, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Guns N’Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and Led Zeppelin.  His album cover showed him wearing only a leather vest.  In an attempt to promote the album he appeared at the American Music Awards dressed in black leather causing his dismissal from Gospel America a Trinity Broadcasting Network TV show.

John Phillip Stamos who was born in Cypress, CA and began his acting career as “Blackie Parrish” on the TV soap General Hospital.  After appearing in several short lived television series’ Stamos was cast as “Uncle Jesse” on the sitcom Full House which ran for eight seasons. After the end of Full House, Stamos has appeared in several made for TV movies such as The Marriage Fool with Walter Matthau and Carol Burnett, Sealed with a Kiss, the biographical film The Reagans, and A Raisin in the Sun starring Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs.  He currently plays “Dr. Tony Gates” on the long-running medical drama ER.
John Stamos was mentioned in the film Step Brothers, which starred Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, as the one guy the main characters would sleep with if they were a female.  High praise indeed!

Sir Roger George Moore, James Bond II, was born in Stockwell, London, England.  He began as a model for men’s knitwear for which he won the nickname The Big Knit.  His worldwide fame came when he was cast as “Simon Templar” in The Saint. Moore’s next big break came when he replaced Sean Connery in the role of “James Bond”.  He appeared in seven “Bond” movies:  Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, and A View to Kill. He has been the actor to play the role of James Bond the longest to date and was the oldest at 45 when he began.  He was 58 when he made the last Bond film.  Moore’s career after “Bond” became somewhat diminished.  He played opposite Michael Caine in the comedy film Bullseye and another comedy film titled Bed and Breakfast with Talia Shire.
Roger Moore played “James Bond” in a more light-hearted way than Sean Connery who played the role as a focused, determined agent.  He is quoted as saying, “I like Bond.  But it’s silly to take it seriously.  It’s just a great big comic strip.”

James Timothy Daly was born in New York City and is the brother of Cagney & Lacey star Tyne Daly. Tim Daly started out guest starring on many television series episodes and was a featured actor in several films before getting the role of “Joe Montgomery” in the very popular series Wings. He  remained with the show for the eight seasons it ran.  He starred as “Mike Anderson” in the TV mini-series Storm of the Century and as “Dan White” in the TV film Execution of Justice. Daly has also done the voice of “Superman/Clark Kent” in the animated series Superman, the TV film The Batman Superman Movie and the video game Superman:  Shadow of Apokolips. He played “Richard Kimble” in the short-lived reprisal of the series The Fugitive and “J. T. Dolan on The Sopranos.  Daly is currently part of the cast of the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice as “Dr. Pete Wilder”.
Commenting on his Superman animated role Tim Daly said, “I look great as Superman.  I am so buff”.  And heroic  too.  It’s not all about looks, you know.
