Regardless of the fact that he is quoted as saying “I was a geek, a spaz. I was horribly, painfully, terribly shy” there is no better or more well liked actor than Tom Hanks. He is a five-time Oscar nominee winning two back-to-back; first for Philadelphia and and next for Forrest Gump. In addition he won a Saturn Award, three American Comedy Awards, four Emmy Awards, and five Golden Globe awards, just to name a few. He has been is so many outstanding films and TV series, mini-series, and documentaries that the list seems almost endless. Some of them include Big, A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, Apollo 13, Toy Story (as the voice of Woody), Saving Pvt. Ryan, The Green Mile, and The Da Vinci Code
Watch for Tom Hanks in the upcoming film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Wouldn’t be surprising if his portrayal of Thomas Schell wins him another Oscar, or, at least, the nomination.
