George Nader, born in Pasadena, CA was a film and television actor who won a Golden Globe Award in 1955 for Most Promising Newcomer.  He signed a contract with Universal Studios, however the studio already had several handsome, well-built male actors like Rock Hudson, Tony Curtin and Jeff Chandler, who overshadowed newcomer Nader.  He did appear in several films such as Carnival Story, Away All Boats, Phone Call from a Stranger, and as “Roy” the hero who saves the world in the low-budget 3-D sci-fi film Robot Monster. Nader also appeared in various role in several episodes of Fireside Theatre, Lux Video Theatre, and The Further Adventures of Ellery Queen. He was cast as “Dr. Glenn Barton’ in the adventure series The Man and the Challenge, and as “Joe Shannon” in Shannon.
When, in the mid 1950s it was discovered that Nader was in a homosexual relationship it ended his Hollywood career.  He and his companion, Mark Miller, moved to Europe, becoming the second most popular star in Germany.  In 1974, after sustaining an eye injury which caused extreme sensitivity to light and also developing glaucoma, George Nader retired from acting.

Robert Horton was born Meade Howard Horton, Jr. in Los Angeles, CA.  and played the role of “Flint McCullough”  on the long-running television western Wagon Train.  He also starred in another TV western called “A Man Called Shenandoah” which lasted only one season.  He appeared in many television series episodes such as Studio 57, General Electric Theater, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and several  films.  He played “Drake McHugh” in a special Warner Bros. Presents series called Kings Row.
Robert Horton has received several lifetime achievement awards including the Golden Boot, given to actors, actresses and crew members who have made significant contributions to western television and films, and the Cowboy Spirit Award.

Ruggedly handsome, sexy Jon-Erik Hexum  was discovered by Bob LeMond (John Travolta’s manager) and was thought to be the next big male star.  His first major appearance was in the role of “Phineas Bogg” in the short-lived adventure series Voyagers.  He was then cast as “Mac Harper” in the television drama series Cover Up.  During a break in the day’s shooting of the show, Hexum jokingly put a prop .44 magnum to his temple and pulled the trigger.  Although the gun was loaded with “blanks” the force of the wad hitting his temple caused  enough blunt force trauma to propel a small piece of his scull into his brain causing massive hemorrhaging.
Hexum  underwent five hours of surgery in an attempt to repair the damage, but was declared brain dead after five days on life support.  His mother allowed his body, which was still on life support, to be flown to San Francisco for organ donation.
Jon-Erik Hexum’s untimely and tragic death ended a career that had started with tremendous  promise.

Gregory Kinnear was born in Logansport, IN.  His initial fame came as the first host of the E! television show Talk Soup in 1991.  After leaving the show in 1994 he turned to film acting.  His breakthrough film role was in Sabrina with co-stars Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond.  He played the role of “Simon Bishop” in As Good As It Gets which starred Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.  His performance earned him an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actor.  Other films Kinnear appeared in are:  Nurse Betty, Someone Like You with Ashley Judd, as Bob Crane in the film Auto Focus, and as “Richard Hoover” in the Oscar winning film Little Miss Sunshine.  He recently co-starred with Miley Cyrus in the romance/drama The Last Song.
Greg Kinnear says, “I’ just doing the best I can with what I have.  There are certain physical limitations to being a WASP-y looking dude from Indiana, right? “Travis Bickle” (from Taxi Driver) probably ain’t coming my way.  So with the roles I get, as best as I can I try to see the cracks within the faces and then magnify them in an interesting way.”

Dennis Cole began a career as a model for men’s physique magazines before turning to acting.  His first major role came during episode two of the television series Bracken’s World.  His big break came with the starring role in Felony Squad which ran for three seasons.  After Felony Squad Cole made guest appearances on many television series such as Medical Center, Police Story, Charlie’s Angels, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Three’s Company and Murder, She Wrote.
Dennis Cole’s only son, Joe Cole, was murdered in a robbery in 1991 at the age of 30.  After his son’s death Cole wouldn’t take any roles in acting projects which contained violence.  Unfortunately, this decision ended his acting career.

Omar Sharif was born Michael Demitri Shaloub in Alexandria, Egypt.  He began acting in Egyptian films before making his US film debut in Lawrence of Arabia.  He is also well-known for his performance in the title role of Doctor Zhivago and as “Nick Arnstein” , opposite Barbra Streisand, in Funny Girl and the follow-up film Funny Lady.  He starred as “Che Guevara” in the film Che, as “Francisco” in Behold a Pale Horse, and as “Bart” in the comedy film Oh Heavenly Dog starring Chevy Chase.
His role as “Sherif Ale” in Lawrence of Arabia earned him an Academy Award nomination and two Golden Globe awards, one for Best Supporting Actor  and one for Most Promising Newcomer.  He also won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Doctor Zhivago.

Peter Steele, born Petrus T. Ratajczyk in Brooklyn, NY, was the lead singer, bassist and composer for the gothic metal band “Type O Negative”.  Steele and band members Josh Silver, Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly, combined gothic, doom and thrash metal elements with lyrics that emphasized themes of romance, depression and death.  They were nicknamed “The Drab Four” (as a tribute to the Beatles “Fab Four nickname).
Peter Steele posed for the nude centerfold of Playgirl Magazine in August of 1995 claiming he did it as a naïve publicity stunt.  In 2005 Type O Negative posted a picture of a tombstone with Steele’s name and the dates 1962-2005 starting rumors that he had died.  The band said this was also a publicity stunt to celebrate their signing with SPV Records.  Five years later Peter Steele did, indeed, die of heart failure at the age of 48.  In a 2007 interview with “Decibel” magazine Steele explained his recent change from atheism to identifying himself as a Roman Catholic.  He stated, “There are no atheists in foxholes, they say, and I was a foxhole atheist for a long time.  But after going through a midlife crisis and having many things change very quickly, it made me realize my mortality.  And when you start to think about death, you start to think about what’s after it.  And they you start hoping there is a God.  For me, it’s a frightening thought to go nowhere.”
